The Music Makers’ Foundation, School of Groove, and Boston String Quartet are proud to present the 2009/2010 Xibus Tour, which will be taking place in 16 cities throughout the United States. The tour is designed as an interactive learning experience
for high school music students.
The Xibus Tour will feature the talents of the respective symphony orchestras of sixteen high schools throughout the United States. Partnering with internationally acclaimed artists, students will engage in one full day of classes and workshops, and a second day consisting of intensive rehearsals, culminating in an evening performance. Students will participate in music ranging in style from Led Zeppelin to Ennio Morricone, from Celtic to jazz, and more.
This opportunity is provided to students at no cost by the Music Makers’ Foundation, and our corporate sponsors and donors, and is an effort to support live music and K-12 music education in the communities visited by introducing audiences to new music, and by providing outstanding performance opportunities to young artists and students.
